Tonight the Mariners and Angels play each other for the FIRST TIME this season. It will be a 5 game set to kick things off. There is literally nothing I relish more than seeing our in division rivals eat each other as we sit safely ahead of the pack.

Also, these are the two most exciting teams in the division (besides us). The Angels are compelling because they have the superstar power but just find new ways to lose every time, and the Mariners are just scrappy and always managing to keep their heads above water and can't even remember what the postseason feels like. These teams are going to be looking to prove that THEY are the Wild Card team in the West.

On that note, who do you have coming ahead when it's all said and done? Personally I have way more faith in the Mariners.

He pitched well toward the end of last year. If he doesn't get derailed by injury again I think Jake could be one of our better starters next year. I'm pretty high on the guy - is this just fantasy? I swear I remember him having a good postseason coming in as a 4 inning reliever and whatnot. I just feel like he had a lot of bad luck last year and could be someone who comes out of nowhere and surprises us this year.

Basically, trying to cope with Lance likely being out for a lot of the season.
