QB Crazy

The NFL is QB crazy. Look at the deals that have been happening for the past several seasons. Record setting money being shelled out. If Watson is cleared of felony charges I’m gonna go out on a limb and say we get 4 first round picks. Many will say it’s impossible, but I’ve had this feeling lately that leads me to believe we all will be pleasantly surprised with the haul. I think teams have been tapering their interest b/c no one knows which way the legal issues will go and don’t wanna be “stained” as a team that was interested, but if he gets out of this s**t without felony charges, I think we will see a frenzy trying to get him.

If for no other reason… after all the bad luck we’ve had, the NFL gods have to smile upon us at some point… right? Please.

Watson Trade Concerns

Is anyone else concerned that the Texans are about to “Texans up” the whole trade and we get a terrible return/haul? I have 0% faith in this organization to do anything right. Am I alone with these concerns? I’d feel better if they just waited until a…

Don’t forget…

It’s perfectly ok and encouraged to root for this team, the players, and the city, but F**K the organization/front office. Don’t let a week 1 win push you into buying tickets, shirts, jerseys, etc. The front office still needs to fill the burn, and that only happens when money isn’t pouring in like normal. Never forget the front office was so inept that Watson wanted to leave, JJ requested an out, Hopkins was traded for a stick of gum, etc, etc… Stand strong fellow Texans’ fans!!!!

F**K CAL McNAIR!!

Seriously, what do we (fans) do?

This entire situation we find ourselves dealing with is so disheartening.

I was an Oilers’ fan growing up… then they left. The years Houston didn’t have a team sucked. I bounced around from a one team to the next trying to find my new club to support. I was a Tennessee fan until they became the Titans. I wanted to like the Falcons, but rooting for a team I had no true connection to was weird. Then I just tried to root for players I respected, but that wasn’t fulfilling. Thankfully, NFL football came back to Houston and I finally felt like I was reconnected with the sport and city I love to support!

I’ve rode with this team, season after season, since their inaugural season. I’ve been to at least 1 home game each season, except for this past one for obvious reasons. I live live in Austin, I do not and have not lived in Houston. That means every season, I spent money to drive to Houston, get a hotel, eat, drink, park, wear their colors, etc. etc. Some seasons I’ve gone to 2 or more games. I’ve taken off work or left early to get to Thursday night games and drove back same night, exhausted to be back at work on Friday morning. I have been laughed at by visiting teams’ fans after embarrassing losses. I’ve spent money to be jeered by home teams’ fans when I traveled to support this team on away games. F**k man, all of this s**t lately is really starting to bum me out!!!

I don’t want to root for another team. I remember how much the NFL sucked when I didn’t have a team I legitimately cared for. I don’t want to support this dumpster fire. I have so many fucking Texans’ shirts… I usually wear to the gym, and lately I don’t even wear them to the gym b/c I don’t want to promote them in any way, shape, or form. It’s embarrassing to be associated with them.

The moves they have made in the past week, to me, seem to really demonstrate the front office absolutely does not care about its fanbase, and so I’m just waiting for the final hammer to drop (i.e. DW4 & JJ get traded) and then I feel I will be done with them. That thought just bothers me so much…

So, I ask, again, what do we do?

And also, don’t give me the whole “Real fans stick with the team BS.” This franchise doesn’t want to win. PERIOD… and if you aren’t trying to win, then what’s the point?

TL;DR… longtime fan saddened by current state of Texans and wondering what do others plan to do once it is all said and done.

Settle an argument for me, please!

Bill O’Fuckin Brien… was he or wasn’t he worth a crap? I ask b/c I’m tired of my buddy and I going round after round about this. I am thrilled he’s fired! Texans could have gone 0&16 and I still would have called it a successful year b/c they canned his ass… a tad too late, but still. My buddy was a BOB fan and is still butt-hurt. Below are the arguing points we usually go back and forth on.

Me:Couldn’t manage the clockPredictable play callingNever saw his complicated, genius offense come to beTeams he coached rarely played a complete game of footballHis pompous, smug, “smartest guy in the room” attitude drove me crazy (yes, those are character traits, but I felt he didn’t win enough big games to be that way)Gutted the teamTerrible trades while gutting the teamLost the locker roomEmbarrassing play-off lossesNo AFC Championship game

Buddy:”He mAdE ThE PlayOFfs 4 oF 6 SEaSoNs wITh tERriBle Qbs”

Did I miss anything on either side?

What’s your take?

If we get the right GM and HC in place we can right this wrong rather quickly… Let’s discuss.

Am I crazy for believing that? Am I crazy for thinking the front office could get both of these selections correct, much less one? I just watch games like today’s against the Patriots, and no the Pats aren’t world beaters, but I watch and think, “My goodness we do some good things when it’s working.” Yes, we need to also add some complimentary players, mainly on defense, but I believe that we could be bouncing back in the 2022 season. Heck, we might be much better than expected… are you ready for it…next season! Yeah, our record sucks, but look at who we lost to… and we’ve had 4 games where we lost by one score.

I just feel this season could be a minor setback for a major comeback. Anyways, just my thoughts after a day of celebratory Dos Equis.

Enjoy the week after this victory! Happy Turkey Day! F**k the Colts!!
