We have been exploring local coffee shops in Houston and I wanted to share some of our favorites for anyone who may be interested. As a note, I normally just order a basic latte so I can't speak to most of the specialty drinks out there.

Catalina - Great for basic espresso drinks and pastries. Not as expensive as most others.

Boomtown - Cool location in The Heights and the milk & honey latte is *chef's kiss*.

Tenfold - Nice aesthetic (my SO's favorite) and they offer home coffee-making classes.

BlendIn - Kind of hidden in some offices and therefore great for getting work done.

Native - Outdoor seating with lots of plants. Not as overly popular as the others I've mentioned (yet).

I also wanted to mention Agora because it's my favorite physical coffee shop, but I don't find the actual coffee to be anything special and of course it's always incredibly busy.
