Has anyone done Metro’s "Adopt-a-Stop"?

I’m originally from Chicago so you’re preaching to the choir if you just start shitting on Houston’s deplorable transit system, please spare me. However, I’ve lived on this particular block for 7 years now and our bus station is the most disgusting one I’ve ever experienced, even for Houston. I know it’s the city’s responsibility but I feel so bad for all of us that have to use it. I was googling if I’m allowed to fix it myself and came across the Metro’s Adopt-a-Stop “program” (which I personally think is a shitty way of putting the burden back on the people, not to mention they seem more worried about gang graffiti than actual health safety hazards) and was curious if any of you have participated? If so how was the experience? I can definitely pick up trash on my own but this stop needs pressure washing and a whole lot of other TLC and I feel a little intimidated
