One new basin is in the planning phase, and other potential sites are being investigated.

The spread of the virus has been slowing in Harris County for eight days, according to one of the key metrics being tracked by the Texas Medical Center.

The county also joined a separate lawsuit to extend the deadline for the U.S. 2020 Census to be completed.

The daily total for new cases is down from 806 one week ago, Aug. 10, and the seven-day rolling average of new cases per day has also fallen since last week.

The new location is up and running as of this past weekend.

The lawsuit was filed the same day a three-week slate of in-person professional development kicked off for CFISD teachers.

Aug. 13 marked the fourth day in a row in which the daily case count was under 1,000, an occurrence that took place only twice between July 15 and Aug. 9.

Residents can now arrange to get marriage licenses, birth and death certificates and Doing Business As filings at 11 annex buildings located throughout the county.
