Voters in the Heights, River Oaks and Montrose areas will have the opportunity to make their voices heard on several federal, state and local elections on the ballot in the Nov. 5 general election.

As early voting for the Nov. 5 election kicks off Oct. 21, officials with the Harris County Clerk’s office said they are preparing for what could be record voter turnout.

Voters in the Bellaire, Meyerland and West University areas will have the opportunity to make their voices heard on several federal, state and local elections on the ballot in the Nov. 5 general election.

Leaders in Houston and with the Texas Department of Transportation gathered Oct. 16 to celebrate the groundbreaking on a $13 billion project that involves expanding a portion of I-45 in Houston and revamping the road system downtown.

The total number of homes sold was lower in four of five ZIP codes covering the Bellaire, Meyerland and West University areas when comparing data from September 2024 with September 2023.

Houston restaurateur Benjy Levit unveiled his newest concept Sept. 27 with the opening of Milton’s, an Italian-American eatery specializing in handmade pastas and meats grilled using a Josper oven.

By a vote of 4-1, members of the West University Place City Council approved a budget and tax rates for the 2025 fiscal year at a Sept. 23 meeting with plans to keep a close eye on competitive law enforcement pay over the coming year.
