Pearland issues emergency declaration over Coronavirus concerns

The declaration will last for seven days unless extended at the city council meeting on March 23.

In an effort to slow exposure of COVID-19, Pearland, Friendswood and Alvin ISD campuses will remain closed until April 10.

Pearland, Friendswood and Alvin ISDs are requesting that parents report international travel or vacations.

All three districts will be offering lunches to food insecure students.

Funding for parks and recreation is in a position to move forward or backward in priority in both Pearland and Friendswood.

The district recommends closely monitoring communication from the district for additional information for parents and district employees.

The district will evaluate any future closings no later than March 20 and if necessary, will begin offering distance learning options for students.
