The city of Bellaire will adopt a strategic plan in the 2023-24 fiscal year to outline the Bellaire City Council’s priorities and goals, City Manager Sharon Citino said.

On Jan. 9, West University Place City Council members approved the Edloe Street Pathway project by a 4-1 vote.

The anticipated Jan. 9 start date for construction was pushed back as the Texas Department of Transportation waits on a third party to take action.

Heading into 2023, the city of West University Place is advancing flood control and water projects, including a feasibility study for work along Poor Farm Ditch, a new water line along Law Street and a variety of drainage improvements.

Among the state legislators that serve portions of the Bellaire, Meyerland and West University areas, more than 50 bills have been prefiled ahead of the 88th Texas legislative session.

The original scoreboard includes winning records dating back to 1960, but is oversized by more than 200 square feet.
