Harris County commissioners have more than 600 items on the agenda for the upcoming March 27 court meeting.

Sidewalks 4 Precinct 4, the $20 million initiative carried out by Precinct 4 Commissioner Lesley Briones, aimed to improve access to schools, health care providers, businesses and parks throughout unincorporated Harris County.

Menefee formally resigned as Harris County Attorney on March 17 with the announcement of his campaign to run for the now-vacant U.S. Congress District 18 position.

The statewide coalition is led by Harris County officials and aims to provide low-income and disadvantaged communities across Texas with solar energy programs.

The River Oaks opening marks the restaurant’s fourth location throughout the Houston area.

Precinct 4 officials said in an email the food market gives access to items such as fresh produce and other community resources.

Councilmembers approved several contractor bids on March 10 and emphasized the need to keep the project on schedule and within budget.

County officials discussed Feb. 27 the ongoing need for jail staff that would address detention officers’ unsustainable mandatory overtime, which could save millions for taxpayers, they said.

The new murals are part of a larger Harris County crime prevention and neighborhood safety program.
