Harris, Fort Bend and Waller counties reported a total of 448 new, confirmed positive coronavirus cases April 22 in seven Katy-area ZIP codes.

Commissioners court plans to form a committee with members from school districts, municipalities and special purpose districts to help it find eligible uses for the funding.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said the spread of the virus is beginning to level off, while Katy-area counts have increased from 405 on April 20 to 436 on April 21.

The resolution urges state officials and the Fort Bend Central Apprasial District to take action to provide financial relief.

“One of the ways man has risen to meet difficulties is through working together as a community,” said Kathryn Locheed, the interim head of upper school at Aristoi Classical Academy.

The kits include gloves, sanitizer and disposable face masks.

Parks are reopening while counties update their recovery responses.
