Democratic challenger Marisela “MJ” Jimenez is running against Republican incumbent Valoree Swanson in the race for Texas House District 150 in the upcoming Nov. 5 election. 

Democratic challenger Peter Filler is running against Republican incumbent Dan Crenshaw in the race for Congressional District 2 in the upcoming Nov. 5 general election.

Officials with Yes Prep Public Schools celebrated the grand opening of the new North Rankin Elementary School with a ribbon cutting ceremony Aug. 12.

A joint Marble Slab Creamery and Great American Cookies storefront opened in Valley Ranch Town Center in early August, according to officials with the East Montgomery County Improvement District. 

Led by Founder and Artistic Director Brad Bouley, the TMC is a mixed choral ensemble of 100 auditioned singers that performs a variety of choral masterworks from classical and sacred to contemporary and secular.

Over the past 25 years, the organization has funded 2,237 grants and 386 scholarships for a total of $17.3 million given to Humble ISD students and teachers, according to the foundation’s website.
