Dutch Bros Coffee celebrated the grand opening of its new location at 12240 W. Lake Houston Parkway, Houston, on Feb. 25.

The new restaurant is one of 10 nontraditional locations slated to open in malls nationwide this year with build-outs scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2022.

Upon completion, HISD Chief Communications Officer Jamie Mount said the project will protect several district facilities from potential future flooding by providing additional stormwater storage capacity.

Harris County Flood Control District officials hosted a groundbreaking ceremony March 10 for two projects in the Spring area of the Cypress Creek watershed.

According to the release, construction is already underway and expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2023.

The pizzeria is known for its nine individually sized classic pizzas as well as its build-your-own option, which patrons can customize with more than 30 toppings and eight sauce options.

While a few key Ohio employees have relocated to the new manufacturing plant in Texas, officials noted the company is also hiring new employees from the Greater Houston area.

Located in the Caney Crossing shopping center, the new storefront features a “Pizza Portal Pickup” and also offers delivery.
