Alvin ISD’s Operation Backpack has launched again this year, offering school supply vouchers to students in need throughout the summer to prepare for the 2025-26 school year.

MJ’s Lounge is currently in its soft-opening phase as of late June with plans to hold a grand opening by the beginning of July, an employee with the business said.

Monna Lisa Trattoria is now open in Kemah as of late March, an employee with the business said.

San Antonio-based Kaffeinated Crepes & Coffee is now open in Webster, an employee with the business said.

With summer beginning, Alvin, Friendswood and Pearland ISDs have various construction and maintenance projects planned for their facilities ahead of the 2025-26 school year.
