Houston-based Highland Resources Inc. is planning a 13-story apartment complex and restaurant on Clear Lake.

The development of an 11-acre waterfront mixed-use project is one step closer to reality after Seabrook City Council’s vote.

California-based Shea Homes has purchased one of the last large tracts available in the trending area. It will be the company’s fourth self-developed community in the Houston area.

The Dinerstein Cos., which bills itself as “one of the nation’s largest developers of multifamily and student housing communities,” launched Inspire Homes and broke ground on a community of single-family homes for rent in Missouri City.

The Houston-based startup hub continues its expansion into Houston’s suburbs and beyond.

Tesla is in the process of obtaining permits for the build-out of the 1.04 million-square-foot industrial facility.

CDC Houston now fully owns two of the master-planned community’s office buildings along with the HPE headquarters. It also increased its stake in two hotels.

“You have a lot of people that would love to come and spend time on Bolivar and own property there, but they don’t necessarily want the maintenance and the upkeep that comes up with owning a property,” said Island Sky Investments CEO Jason Caraway.

RCLCO and John Burns have released their annual list of the 50 top-selling communities.

The city says its current water system capacity is not sufficient to support additional developments.
