More than 100 Cy-Fair residents have died from the virus since March, according to Harris County Public Health.

Cy-Fair’s total case count since March surpassed 11,000 on Aug. 18.

Teachers and other staff previously required to attend in-person professional development have the option to take part in sessions remotely from home, according to an Aug. 16 email.

The Texas Supreme Court has suspended a temporary restraining order that had briefly been in place and would have allowed teachers to attend professional development sessions remotely.

According to the district, 34% of students plan to attend classes in person, while 43% intend to engage virtually.
