Nearly 190,000 county residents have voted in this year’s early voting period.

More than 177,000 county residents have cast ballots through 12 days of early voting, an increase of over 20,000 from the previous early voting high reached in 2016.

From Willis to The Woodlands, thousands of county residents have turned out to vote each day since early voting began Oct. 13.

As of Oct. 22, the district had recorded 181 positive COVID-19 reports among students and 225 among staff this year.

The Conroe ISD board of trustees met for its regular monthly meeting Oct. 20 to discuss the “District of Innovation” status and several other items.

While the total outpaces the count through the fifth day of early voting from previous general elections, the county’s voter turnout percentage so far is lower than in 2012 and 2016.

More than 78,000 ballots were cast as of Oct. 19.

With more than 113,000 ballots cast, the 30.75% turnout is the highest mark recorded locally through seven days of early voting in a presidential election.

A local travel agency and church also marked their first anniversaries in recent weeks.
