When complete, the projects will provide drivers a safer route from FM 1488 to Hwy. 105 in the Montgomery area.

“That overpass is one of the most needed projects that I’ve ever worked on in Precinct 2 simply because of the safety for the kids and the school buses and everybody concerned,” Montgomery County Precinct 2 Commissioner Charlie Riley said.

The proposed two-floor facility includes volleyball and basketball courts as well as concessions and office spaces.

The new eatery will open later this week near Lake Conroe.

A project is on the table to widen Hwy. 105 between FM 149 to the Grimes County line west of Montgomery.

“These new facilities that you will witness today are a bold reflection of the commitment to education that Tomball has had for years and will continue to have,” Superintendent Martha Salazar-Zamora said.

Prospective buyers can choose from nine one- and two-story open concept floor plans, including plans with five bedrooms, four bathrooms and island kitchens.

Montgomery County Animal Services received the Touchstone Award from Best Friends Animal Society in August, recognizing the shelter’s lifesaving progress and no-kill designation, MCAS announced Aug. 31.

While some attractions will be closed this season, the annual festival will feature 11 guest vendors and 20 new vendors, in addition to recurring vendors.

Copan Coffee Roasters’ signature coffee and food tours will resume Sept. 25.
