Attempting to find most iconic/famous Houston baked good
Working on a baking challenge (r/52weeksofbaking ) and one of the upcoming weeks’ prompts is “local favorite.” I’ve lived in Houston most of my life, but don’t know any particular baked foods that originated here, or a local variation that can only be done “right” in Houston.
Since y’all enjoy fighting each other to the death over taco trucks I figured this would be a good discussion, and might result in some good recipe ideas. For clarity, I don’t need an actual recipe (although that would be great,) just what kind of food it is; only caveat is that it has to be baked, not cooked. Thanks in advance.
