atmosphere in the Clear Lake / League City area

My teen daughter and I are moving to the Clear Lake/League City area after living in The Woodlands for many years. In general, most people are not friendly or courteous which is a real drag, especially after growing up in San Antonio. Can anyone provide some insight about the atmosphere in the Clear Lake area.
