At what point do we consider changing team allegiance? (Serious)

This is something I’ve been grappling with over the latter half of the season as it has become clear the Texans have serious and deeply concerning issues coming from the very top.

I’m from Houston. I remember when the Texans became a team. I have been a fan for literally the entirety of this team’s existence. I am not a fair weather fan or the type that bases their allegiance on a W/L record. I have stuck through this team through some horrendous seasons, and I would gladly continue to do it for the rest of my life, because they’re an emotional tie to my hometown and that’s what being a fan is.

However, it has become apparent over the past few months that some members of the upper echelons of this franchise are highly problematic. I don’t just mean “incompetent,” because that’s something that I can work with. They’re seemingly just toxic, unlikable, and foolish people, and their actions over these past few months make me strongly question how much I want to continue being a Texans fan. How can I? It’s become apparent that many of our beloved and star players share these deep-seated concerns regarding ownership and the front office; I fucking LOVE Deshaun Watson… if he leaves how can I support an organization that he clearly despises being controlled by? The very same organization that traded Nuk away for a fucking pittance for reasons that in retrospect almost certainly seem to be personal?

I can deal with losing over and over and over again, but at this point I legitimately feel some level of moral obligation to reconsider my allegiances, because I feel like our team is just owned and ran by bumbling fools at best and massive fucking assholes at worst. Even if we were to somehow turn everything around and have a goddamn perfect season next year, how can I continue to support an organization run by people that the players I’ve loved and supported over the years seem to rightfully hate?

TL;DR – it’s not just about winning, I feel like the Texans have really bad and deep-seated cultural issues in front office, and that worries me ethically.
