At-Home Hospice Suggestions
My father is elderly and has recently had a fall. He is suffering from dementia but prior to the accident could function normally by himself with few restrictions, he just struggled to communicate effectively. Now he is discharged from the hospital and cannot speak, eat, or move on his own. He is on a feeding tube and can no longer communicate verbally, or undertand the situation from our gatherings. His primary care physician believes he will not return to his previous quality of life.
My mother and I would like to explore at-home hospice options that offer 24/7 monitoring and will “facilitate and make him comfortable” in the words of his doctor. He never gave official directive of life but we are confident he would want to pass in his own home. I am looking for any opinions on good providers. My parents stay in the Sugar Land area.
