Game 8 – 8/21/21 vs. Mariners – W,15-1

Another late August game where the Astros destroy a division rival at home. The rookie Logan Gilbert faces Jake Odorizzi, the day after the Mariners got shoved 12-3. Odo keeps the Mariners at bay with 8Ks, and despite some issues with command, only allows 4 hits.

Taylor Jones has a career day, 4 RBIs and just a single away from the cycle. He also had a great defensive play in the 1st inning which set the tone for the rest of the game. Altuve has a 4 hit day. Yordan goes oppo taco. Jacob Wilson gets a triple. Pedro Baez records three consecutive outs (somehow).
