Astro A40s

Hi i have issue with my Astro A40s it stays on red when i press the power button for 5 seconds does not turn white and yes it is not on mute i dont have the offical power cable i using my ps3 controller cable not sure if this makes a diffrence?i have tried three diffrent cables no joy
