Artsy classes or volunteer opportunities?

I'm looking to branch out and make friends or find a new hobby, and I have experience and interest in making art. I was wondering if there's any kind of cheap classes or volunteer work could get into so I can get the ball rolling and get creative again. I've seen some classes at Smithers Park, but are there any other opportunities in the south/central area I'm missing out on? Really I'm open to most anything that's even vaguely artsy if it's accessible. Thanks in advance for y'all's input!
