Armyworms invading balcony, how to prevent them from crawling in?

Hi all, I'm renting a first floor apartment with a balcony near the grass & trees.

We are constantly being invaded by armyworms in our balcony for more than 2 weeks now.

I can't keep killing them since another "army" of worms crawl in every 3 mins so I was thinking if there is a certain product I can sprinkle on or apply drops of on the perimeter of our balcony floor to prevent the armyworms from crawling in. Our dog likes to stay in the balcony but can't open and close the door of course lol so if he wants to stay there, we have to keep the door open for him and the armyworms start entering our home as well. 🙁

So far only tabasco works but it dries up so I have to keep reapplying and buying bottles of it if I really want to use it. I was wondering if y'all have suggestions. I have tried putting liquid soap, salt, bar keepers friend as well but doesnt do the job as well as tabasco. Has anyone encountered the same problem?
