Ariel Granular Detergent fumes

Has anyone else noticed that Ariel Detergent emits some pretty noxious fumes. Not the nice fragrant top note of detergent but a criss between diesel and gasoline that travels far from the origin. I kept smelling this odor. I thought maybe my gasoline can had spilled and went under the house. In Texas saw crawlspace construction. Gas cans were fine. Kept looking. Thought, maybe I’m having a stroke or some brain thing. Not that.

I was searching everywhere. Checking my gas cans. If you walked right up to the detergent bag and it just smelled like the detergent but all throughout the house was this gaseous diesellike odor. I was flummoxed. On a whim, I sat the detergent bag outside and voila no odor. I usually keep the detergent in my car because I go to the laundromat so I’d never noticed this. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it just a bad batch/one off?
