Are there any laws dictating House boats in the Bayou? Right and wrong answered welcomed

I got curious if we had any house boats in any of the bayous but my searches haven’t yielded any info. So far what is see is that they exist in Louisiana. The rules I’ve found about them is that if it’s coastal it must be approved by Texas parks and wildlife. We have 22 bayous and no house boats? For a people that surf down 45 in refrigerators after floods, this seems like a missed opportunity.
