Are the Mariners intentionally going to throw the game tomorrow and then we end up with WC2?

It's all I'm seeing in the Mariners sub, that they should throw the game to absolutely deny us another division win. Blue Jays are probably doing the same since WC3 is the best they can hope for, which means an Astros win tomorrow would get us WC2.

Is there any precedence for this in baseball history? Seems like the Astros could be walking into a trap.

EDIT: Or maybe saying intentionally throw is too harsh. But maybe play their bench players while Rangers will obviously play at full strength to defend their 1st place in the division. Just seems like a Mariners win tomorrow is going to be even less likely than today where they still had a WC spot on the line.
