Are HorseFlies worse this year in the past?

In the last three weeks i have been run off from some walking trails by HorseFlies that I have never noticed in past years. Also experiencing two bites on separate days for the 1st time and apparently being allergic now (swelling for several days). Just wondering if anyone else has noticed… Off doesnt do much of anything and it getting hotter so having looae pants is a pain in the arse.

Anyone else? I normaly walk in lightly wooded areas.
