Are dehumidifiers worth it here?

I recently moved into an apartment here that only has a window AC unit in the bedroom. So far it’s been great but I’ve been noticing it can get rather humid in the apartment, especially at night. I’m wondering if I were to invest in a decent sized automatic dehumidifier, would it actually be worth my money and is it a normal thing to have here in Houston?
