Apartment fire

Some apartments in my complex had a fire last night. We overheard from maintenance and fire fighters that it was an electrical fire from a newly installed AC. Is there a way for me to find out if it was the fault/negligence of the complex? I’m concerned with it being an older complex and wanting to make sure my apartment is safe.
