Anyones AC suddenly not able to cool the house during the day?

AC is a few years old but has never not been able to cool the house in the last 18 months. As of this week, it runs non stop but can’t get the house below 77 until the evening. I know it’s record breaking temps and I do live in an old home, but I am still surprised.
