Anyone with a physics degree have advice on employment in Houston?
Hey everyone!
Long story short – I’m looking for leads to help my girlfriend find gainful employment, she would do this herself but does not use Reddit regularly.
Qualifications
-Bachelors in physics, focus in astronomy -minor in Mathematics From: Texas Tech University [graduated December 2020]
Highlighted experience: she has already published a research note, which she presented in Hawaii to the society of astrophysicists, and will likely be published a second time on research she’s working on right now.
She is employed part time remotely for a tech company, as a manager/customer service rep. She is extremely meticulous and patient, and willing to step out of her comfort zone [which is probably obvious by the fact that she is currently working in management/customer service].
We find maybe 2-5 job openings relevant to her field of study a week, applying to NASA, KBR, HP and some lesser known companies.
Her grades were top notch, her resume shows good working experience, and her education is very high level stem. She does not have an interest in teaching, but is actively looking stem jobs related to engineering, physics, astronomy, or anything we haven’t thought of.
I know the market is grim right now, that’s why I’m looking for any leads, any relevant responses of course will be connected directly to her as I’m simply making the post on her behalf!
