Anyone know of any cheap non-ghetto apts for rent in the West/Northwest side of Houston?

Long story short, my cousin can't keep her legs closed and is having another baby so I'm the odd man out and gots to go.

I've been saving up to gtfoh for a while but life just keeps throwing bricks at me so it's one step forward and two steps back. But I will get out of this place one way or another! Just asking my friends here on Reddit for a little help.

I don't think I can afford more than $700 a month. I do have a small well trained Chihuahua, so a pet deposit is something I can take on the chin if I eat ramen noodles for a little while.

I've been looking at old Reddit posts like this all night and I have only managed to find 5+ year old suggestions which either means the price isn't the same, or the neighborhood got ghetto-er since the user suggested it.

I worry about ghetto places because I drive a nice car. I bought it at a steal and it's my pride and joy and the last thing I want to do is wake up one morning to see the windows busted out and it sitting on cinder blocks… I know it may sound like I'm asking a lot but I KNOW there are places around here like that. Cheap, not ghetto, pet friendly.
