Anyone have experience with dispute resolution/arbitration?

Having the toughest time dealing with a construction company's unrealistic rates & items charged for a job, and unfortunately feels like I might have to seek arbitration. Does anyone have any experience as far as costs to both parties, how long it took to get resolved, and/or any general advice? Appreciate y'all.
