Anyone have experience with a particular police scanner app or brand?

I have been to all of the lower 48 states and Texas is the only one where I’ve been pulled over by traffic cops. Sudden speed changes, rear light too dim, you name it. I just have the worst luck there.

So this time I’d like to use a police scanner and just avoid them altogether. There a lot apps out there but most are area-specific. Can anyone recommend one they’ve used in the HTX area? I will be primarily traveling on the 45 and 69.

Also, I welcome any traffic advice you can give besides obviously following all the rules.
