Anyone had good experiences with a nursing home?

I need to move my mom from her assisted living home into a 24 hr nursing facility and I’m fearful she will not get good care. She has no assets or income aside from a bit she receives as a veteran and also Medicare. I know nothing about this process or where to start. Has anyone been down this road and can offer advice? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!
