Anyone experience with getting solar panels?

So I’m looking to go solar on my house, and have done some research but it looks like I’m not fully grasping it. I know the price depends on how many panels they put, and everyone said to avoid battery for now until the tech improves and it gets cheaper.

Looking for company recommendations and I don’t understand the plans at all. The selling back but not getting any money for it part? Should I get a battery and store it? Any help is much appreciated
