Anyone else irritated by River Oaks Sopping Ctr now paid parking?

Went to eat at the sushi place there. Every single spot pay by text. Not the city meters, the landlord. First 30 mins free per La Madeline staff, but minimum 2 hours for about $2.50. Seems to me that every restaurant in River Oaks Shopping Center pays rent and I thought rent included somewhere for your customers to park. It looked like a ghost town. This does not seem like a wise decision.
