Anyone else feel way better with CJ than they ever did with Watson?
Character aside, not talking about that (though CJ crushes there too). Purely from a football perspective.
Dual-threat quarterbacks can light it up but they always eventually get one or two nasty injuries, their athleticism craters, and you're left with a "decent" quarterback at best (and it's very possible that they just totally fall apart).
Meanwhile, a guy who can stand in the pocket, make smart decisions and throw dimes not only has a much lower injury risk, but can have a two decade career in the league. CJ isn't only lighting it up, he's doing it in ways that make me feel comfortable he could still be The Guy a decade from now.
People knock him for not scrambling but I legit am happy that he just shimmies around the pocket and delivers. I don't want a QB with the half life of a RB.
