Anyone buy a new construction home in a “less than desirable” neighborhood? Do you regret it?

I’m seriously considering buying a new construction home in a neighborhood that’s not the most desirable right now—think older surrounding homes, some blight, a lot of rundown buildings, and not the strongest businesses or retail nearby. But the price is right, and I love the idea of a brand-new home with warranties and lower maintenance.

I’d really love to hear from people who’ve actually gone this route.

-What has your experience been like? -Do you feel safe and comfortable in your neighborhood? -Has the area improved over time or stayed the same? -Any regrets or things you wish you’d known beforehand?

I’m especially curious if you feel like the long-term upside (appreciation, future development, etc.) has or hasn’t panned out. Any and all insight is appreciated!

Edit zip code is 77091 Acres Homes/Independence Heights
