Anyone a victim of a drunk driver since covid? What were the charges given to the defendant? Do you feel justice was served?

A family member of mine was killed by a drunk driver, and The defendant has been out of jail for a long time waiting for the trial. What’s worries me is the prosecutor never answers my phone calls, or contacts me, and city keeps changing attorneys. My family members live in constant fear and afraid to leave the house, our lives have been on standby for years now. It just seems to me the victims are being punished for being model citizens.

I’m so disappointed in the legal system in Houston, I am leaving this city after the trial is over. I’ve been hearing stories of murderers getting away with light sentences and I am terrified….I guess I want to know, What I should expect for the sentencing. Because at this point I need Batman.
