Any suggestions on Renters+Auto insurance?

I'm moving to Montrose/Heights in Houston soon, getting an apartment with a roommate, and I also want to switch my auto insurance (current one covered by my parents and it wayyy too expensive). I want to know if you guys have any suggestions for Renters and Auto insurance in Houston? Or, if possible, if you guys know a good insurance broker in the city? Any advice would be appreciated!
