Any must have soul food, bbq, Italian and Mexican spots?

Gonna be in town a couple of days next week for a funeral. Will have a car. So far I just have Kinokuniya in Katy planned. Need some food recs too. Probably not a lot of Italian stuff in Texas, but I’m sure the others are fire. This’ll be my first time in the state outside of Texarkana so I’m hype lol always wanted to visit Houston
