Any good apartments inside the loop, closer to UH/Eastdo you’d recommend?

I work in Clearlake and it's boring as hell, I want to move to the city in order to the reverse commute, but I want to be as far south as possible, in order to avoid Pierce Elevated and all that gridlock.

Unfournately all the nice apartments seems to be more North, around Washington Ave and Midtown.

Any apartments more South you guys would recommend?
