Any electricians in Houston on here? Interested in becoming one and need some advice

Don’t know much about the industry but was wondering what I should do to get into it and learn should I go the union route and go to the local 716 or go to Iec? Not sure how long the waitlist is for IBEW. Or should I go work for a local company and try to find one who will pay for my school very conflicted on all these choices and can’t find much online for Houston. I’m also 19 years old and don’t have any past experience if that helps.
