Anime conventions in Houston

Me and a couple friends want to go to an anime convention sometime this year and want some suggestions on which ones are good to attend and also general tips since it's our first time going.

We saw that there is one coming up in the Conroe area called KimoKawaii but it's only year 2 so idk if it would be a good starting place?

Any suggestions or insight would be appreciated
