Animal control won’t collect dead dog in front of my house?

Looks like someone ran it over and it stumbled to my lawn before dying. RIP.

Animal control says it will take 1-4 days for them to collect the body. It is a large dog.

What can I do in the meantime? I’m fearful of the fleas and airborne diseases for other dogs/animals in the neighborhood.

Please advise – appreciate the help.
