Am I tripping or is it really hard to meet people and make friends organically in Houston?

I feel like if you didn’t go to high school here / your friends from college stayed everyone kind of already has their own groups and people don’t really seem interested In making new friends? And I don’t mean one time party friends you meet at bars and never speak to again.
