All-Time Houston Ravens (NFL 100)
Now I know what you're thinking. "Houston Ravens? Isn't it the Houston Texans?" I'm making All-Time Teams for every team in the league because I want them to compete digitally. Unfortunately, both the Ravens and especially the Texans are among the newest teams in the NFL. Therefore, they haven't garnered as much talent as a lot of other teams. So for the sake of fairness, I made them a composite team. For what it's worth, plenty of these players have played for both like Jacoby Jones, Owen Daniels, Jermaine Lewis, Derrick Mason, Matt Schaub, Jamie Sharper, and Ed Reed. When I give the years of these players, it takes into account when they played for both teams if necessary. Let's just get to the rules.
- With a few exceptions, all player rankings are determined by career approximate value with that team. This statistic can be found on pro-football-reference.com. However, I also take the best four seasons of each player and double them. This gives players with brief but brilliant careers a leg up over those with long and mediocre careers. It also helps current players who usually don't have as many years to garner enough points.
- All starters have their names bolded.
- Any players with asterisks next to their names indicate fairly common specialties. An asterisk next to a tight end means they come in for two tight end formations. An asterisk next to a wide receiver means they get the call in three wide receiver formations (similarly, two asterisks indicate a fourth wide receiver). If there's an asterisk next to a defensive tackle or inside linebacker, then they get the call when a defense that uses a 4-3 or a 3-4 base scheme uses the opposite. Finally, a defensive back with an asterisk is the nickelback.
- Any player with an N after their profile had to have their number changed. I don't like the idea of two players on a team having the same number.
- I don't want a player to be on two different teams. For instance, Reggie White will have to be on either the Eagles or the Packers. He can't be on both teams. If a player is ineligible, that does not mean they weren't important to the team in question. The reason I put in the last two rules is because I want these teams to play each other in virtual simulations and I feel it would be awkward to have one player playing for two or more teams or to have two or more players wearing the same number.
- If there's an RS in parentheses, it means that they handle either kick or punt returns.

If it wasn't for my one team per player rule, Lamar Miller would be a running back instead of Steve Slaton. Alas, he played longer for the Dolphins than he did for the Texans. Also, Rod Woodson would be a Safety if he didn't play ten seasons for the Steelers prior to his four with the Ravens. Finally, Eric Weddle would be a backup safety if he wasn't such a fixture with the Chargers.
On a more pressing note, if you're wondering where DeShaun Watson is, he's only played two-and-a-half full seasons. I'll admit, he's done some pretty good things in that time, but David Carr was surprisingly good from 2004 to 2006. Whenever the NFL resumes, he and Lamar Jackson will be in a race to replace David Carr.
